Why Africans Must Not Fall into the Trap.
The xenophobic attacks in South Africa are not randomβthey are a calculated plot to divide Africans and destroy the dream of a united continent. We must see through the manipulation and refuse to be pawns in this deadly game.
The single most important lesson from these events is that Africans must not play into the hands of those who seek to divide us. Retaliating against South African businesses or South Africans working in other African countries would be playing exactly into the trap that has been set.
Consider the implications: South African companies are among the largest employers of African labor across the continent. South African investment in infrastructure, telecommunications, banking, and retail has created millions of jobs from Nigeria to Kenya, from Ghana to Zambia.
When we attack South African businesses, we are not attacking the architects of the xenophobic plot; we are attacking African workers, African families, and African communities.
The architects of division want us to engage in such self-destructive behavior.They want African unity to fail, and they understand that nothing undermines unity faster than economic warfare between African nations. By retaliating, we would be proving their thesis that Africans cannot coexist peacefully, that tribalism and nationalism will always triumph over Pan-African solidarity.
