πŸ‡¨πŸ‡² First held in 1973 in Buea at the foot of Mount Fako, the Mount Cameroon Race of Hope spans 38β€―km from the Molyko Sports Complex to the summit and back, testing Africa’s toughest endurance athletes. 

Sarah Liengu Etonge of Cameroon, the famed β€œQueen of the Mountain,” has won the women’s division 7β€―times, while recent champions include Usheni Hassan (2025, Cameroon) and Hamadou Bih Ibrahim (2026, Chad). Ngalim Lisette (Cameroon) is another frequent winner.

The race attracts hundreds from across Africa and beyond β€” runners from Kenya, Ethiopia, Tunisia, Chad, and France β€” celebrating athleticism, cultural pride, and regional unity on Mount Cameroon’s slopes.
